Overview

Position Overview:

The Behavioral Health Counselor conducts crisis assessments in emergency and ambulatory settings. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient evaluations, crisis intervention, and providing disposition recommendations. The counselor collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure timely, safe, and effective care, while connecting patients and families to appropriate resources and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field required

* Experience: 3-5 years of relevant healthcare, mental health, or community-based experience preferred

* Licensure: Current Indiana license as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC, or HSPP required

* Crisis de-escalation and safety management techniques

* Collaboration within multidisciplinary teams

* Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

* Compassionate, professional, and culturally sensitive care delivery
