Assists with supervision and administration of behavioral programming and provides behavioral support. Provides a range of applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessment and educational services for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and related developmental disabilities. Provides regular, ongoing school consultation services to the teaching staff at The Rich Center. Responsible for the development and implementation of ABA services in the classroom environment. Provides the opportunity to work across school, home, and community settings.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides consultation and oversight to the instructional program for learners with autism at The Rich Center and satellite locations.
Conducts assessments related to the need for behavioral intervention (e.g., stimulus preference assessment, functional assessment, staff performance assessment) and recommends changes in instructional programs to the classroom leadership teams.
Designs, implements, and systematically monitors skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction programs through direct work with students and training of staff to include modeling, shadowing, and performance feedback.
Analyzes personal, social, and environmental conditions to better understand the variables that may influence the behavior of the learner with autism and other related disabilities.
Provides professional development through in-services, workshops, technical assistance, and coaching in essential ABA topics for Rich Center staff, the YSU community, and local community.
Conducts formal functional behavioral assessments and implements positive behavior support plans as needed.
Conducts formal research, in collaboration with University departments aimed at defining best practices in ABA methodologies, interventions, and data collection.
Coordinates with the graduate ABA program at YSU regarding intern placements and provides supervision of practicum hours for graduate students assigned to The Rich Center for Autism.
Supports the associate director of behavioral programming with supervision of undergraduate and graduate students working as student employees, graduate assistants, and/or interns at The Rich Center Autism.
Coordinates ABA programming, consultation, and/or professional development with local school districts and outside service providers.
Oversees all incoming student assessments in coordination with the Associate Director of Behavior and Rich Center Administration Team.
Works within a team environment to build relationships with parents, other service agencies, the community, and local leaders.
Responsible for upholding CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification to ensure the annual training and compliance of all employees and graduate assistants.
Provides initial training for new staff and conducts annual refresher sessions for all employees within the center.
Responsible for completing and maintaining accurate CPI training records for all staff members in accordance with licensing requirements
Other Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as assigned.
Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.
Work Schedule: Typically, M-T-W-Th-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Rich Center Academic Calendar recognizes 209 working days, inclusive of academic program days, in-service/professional development days, and parent-teacher conference days. The Rich Center Academic Calendar recognizes there is no academic programming and that the Center is closed on university designated legal holidays.

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Possess or be eligible for Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: applied behavior analysis and evidence-based strategies for learners with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Skill in: behavior support plan development and implementation; administering the delivery of behavioral services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Ability to: work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels ability to gather and interpret behavioral data to gauge plan effectiveness; train staff, teachers, and family members on how to implement a behavior plan or program.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a master's degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of experience developing and administering all aspects of behavioral services to learners with autism and other related disabilities.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform medium work.
Medium: work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
