Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, the Dean of Student Development provides strategic, operational, and assessment leadership for an integrated portfolio of student success services that advance equitable persistence, retention, and completion. The role oversees academic and career advising, testing and assessment, tutoring, retention and transition services, TRIO Student Support Services, student accessibility services, and other success initiatives. The Dean leads cross-functional collaboration to create a seamless, student-centered experience aligned with institutional goals and accreditation standards, using data and technology to drive continuous improvement across a multi-campus environment.
Master's degree from an accredited institution. A doctoral degree is preferred. A minimum of eight (8) years of leadership experience with supervisory responsibilities at the director level or higher within student services areas in higher education is required; prior experience in a multi-campus community college is preferred. Experience and proficiency in utilizing data and technology, such as CRM systems, early alert systems, and degree planning tools, to analyze and improve student outcomes is required. Experience in budget oversight and driving strategic priorities is required. Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA, ADA/Section 504 accessibility obligations, and accreditation standards pertinent to student services.

Provide leadership for the operations of student development units, including recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and professional development of staff.
Establish and manage multiple priorities and projects in a complex, fast-paced environment while ensuring outstanding service across the student enrollment lifecycle.
Implement, monitor, and assess services using evidence-based practices; use assessment findings to create, pilot, and scale interventions that address identified needs.
Partner with administrators, faculty, students, and external stakeholders to design and sustain cross-departmental integrated processes that deliver a seamless, student-success experience.
Develop data collection, analysis, and reporting systems that demonstrate outcomes and inform strategic resource allocation.
Ensure effective administration of personnel, space, finances, and other resources within scope; approve expenditures and monitor budgets.
Hold team members accountable for high performance and engagement through clear expectations, regular feedback, and performance evaluations.
Review reports, evaluate program performance, and recommend improvements in services, processes, and policies.
