The Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC) is seeking a collaborative and innovative professional to serve as Senior Admissions Advisor/Recruiter. This position will be responsible for overseeing the Admissions function and supporting enrollment, counseling, and testing services provided to students. This position will coordinate with community partners and organizations through meetings, presentations, events and other appropriate venues. They will also provide assistance to the Director of Enrollment Management in the development, implementation, and achievement of strategic recruitment and outreach goals for the BEOC.
The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking professional who will play a key role in developing processes, partnerships, and systems that ensure a seamless Admissions experience for adult learners facing economic and educational barriers.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Admissions processes and procedures that support recruiting and admitting students into all programs offered by the BEOC.
Identify and implement process improvements in order to strengthen the Student Experience at the BEOC.
Supervise the Admissions Staff to ensure job duties are clearly delineated, the workload is evenly distributed, and communication is improved among the team members.
Serve as the lead in identifying, coordinating, organizing, and managing admissions events and outreach activities in the community to increase student enrollment and assign Admissions Staff to attend the events and activities. Attendance at all events will be required.
Maintain extensive knowledge of admissions requirements, eligibility, and programming. Actively participate in student recruitment events and outreach activities.
In collaboration with Student Support Services, oversee student intake, registration, and onboarding including new student orientation sessions to ensure a smooth transition for incoming students.
Collect, analyze, and report data to analyze the effectiveness of recruitment and admissions efforts.
Assist with all processes of student enrollment including testing, registration and academic guidance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Student Admissions, Education, Social Work, or a related field with 3 years experience conducting outreach and recruitment.
Experience overseeing staff and operations in student admissions, outreach, and recruitment or a closely related functional area.
Knowledge of and understanding of current and emerging technology related to recruitment and outreach.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and social media knowledge.
Successful candidate must provide evidence of strong time management skills and attention to detail and the ability to assess and respond to the needs of adult students in an adult education context.
Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite. Comfortable learning and using new and emerging technology.
Must be available to work weekends and evenings and have a strong working knowledge of best practices in the field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Admissions, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
Two (2) to five (5) years of supervisory or management experience overseeing staff and operations in student admissions, outreach, and recruitment or a closely related functional area.
Successful experience in student admissions including personnel responsibilities, strategic planning, and program promotion.
Experience with collaborative enrollment strategies.
Experience with budgets and strategies to calculate return on investment in outreach activities and events.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments to improve student outcomes.
Experience working with academically underprepared and/or economically disadvantaged adults.
Proven experience with using social media as a recruitment tool.
Physical Demands
Salary Range $64,474 - $66,000
