This position provides trauma focused psychotherapy and case management to patients of the SIU Survivor Recovery Center (SRC) who have been exposed to violence. Clinician determines the needs for behavioral health and related community-based services and facilitates the provision of / linkage to these services for adult patients primarily aged 18-54. This position may also provide education and mentoring to various learners within the SIU Center for Family Medicine and SIU School of Medicine.

#IND1ADMINISTRATION: 15% A. Supports development of educational materials for patients, partners, and the community. B. Assists with outreach and activities for stakeholder coalition to foster discussion with community partners about trauma informed care and violence prevention. C. Facilitates data collection and other reporting needs for various funders. TEACHING: 5% A. Provides behavioral health education to rotating medical students and other medical learners as requested. B. Serves as Attending/Mentor for Social Work interns. C. Provides trauma informed care trainings to individuals within SIU, community partners, and others as requested. RESEARCH AND SCHOLARLY ACTIVTY: 5% A. Assists SRC Evaluator and FCM statistician to collect and analyze program data. B. Coordinates with outside research partners as appropriate to assess and improve the program.
SERVICE: 75% A. Assesses eligibility of patients for various services per program criteria and diagnostic evaluations, including but not limited to psychotherapy and crisis management. B. Provides emotional and psychological support to patients. C. Develops and implement individualized service plans for patients, and reevaluates level of care at regular intervals. D. Utilizes evidence-based models and interventions when providing counseling services. E. Provides individual, group, and family sessions as needed. F. Provides psychotherapy sessions at worksite, the patient home, and/or community locations as appropriate. G. Attends regular case consultation meetings with SRC staff and other providers to promote collaborative care for patients and mutual support for colleagues. H. Provides clinical case management, connecting patients with community resources and support services as needed. I. Coordinates with external clinical providers and service agencies to support patient needs. J. Participates in professional coaching, training, wellness, and other professional development activities as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A. Master's degree in social work or equivalent behavioral health-related field from an accredited institution. B. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. C. Must have valid Illinois driver's license, reliable vehicle and auto insurance. D. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS A. Minimum of two years prior work experience providing psychotherapy to individuals with histories of trauma. B. Proficiency in trauma focused psychotherapy modalities (eg, CBT, DBT, CPT, EMDR, etc). C. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
