The Student Success Coordinator and Conduct Officer reports to the Dean of Students and is responsible for promoting and enforcing the Statement of Student Responsibilities for a student population of over 13,000 and providing support and referrals for students of concern. Coordinate with Residential Life daily to determine case assignment and adjudicate alleged conduct violations of the University's Statement of Student Responsibilities. Serve as the expert on Maxient student conduct management software. Supervise one graduate assistant Conduct Officer. Meet with students of concern and provide support and referrals. Create training and materials to educate the students, parents, faculty and staff on expectations regarding student behavior, responses to manage behavior, and the student conduct process at Minnesota State Mankato. Represent Student Conduct on a variety of University and divisional committees that contribute to the academic and personal success of Minnesota State Mankato students. Develop and implement annual assessment of student experience in the conduct process. Redesign for process improvement as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in College Student Personnel or related field.
OR
Bachelor's Degree and ten (10) months of experience (post bachelor's and prior to start of employment) in student conduct or related Student Affairs area.
Demonstrated experience with the student conduct process (hearing officer, conduct board advisor/member) in a college or University setting.
Excellent communication skllls including verbal, written and interpersonal.
Excellent administrative skills, including an ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. Must be able to interact effectively with a wide range of University students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated supervision experience.
Working knowledge of student development theories.
Working knowledge of contemporary student conduct practices.
Knowledge of legal issues related to student behavior.
Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes: Up to 20% of the time.
Telework:A position with a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a regular basis at a telework location that is not the employee's permanent/principal work location.
