Millbrook School seeks a full-time history teacher beginning in the fall of 2024. Millbrook’s history department emphasizes skill development, specifically the skills of analytical writing, critical thinking, and public speaking. Candidates must be prepared to teach students of all age levels and should be able to teach U.S. History and other courses, including senior electives. We seek educators who value creating inclusive classrooms and curriculum and who are committed to their continued growth as educators.
A bachelor’s degree in history or a related field and strong communication skills are required. Coaching & teaching experience are preferred. In addition to teaching four sections (or the equivalent), this position includes coaching or supervising an afternoon program for two out of three seasons and serving as an advisor for up to six students. Full time faculty members are also expected to participate in a community service, evening responsibility, activities, assemblies and attend required meetings and workshops. The primary goal of a teaching faculty member is to ensure that each student achieves the highest potential possible. Housing may be provided and would bring with it residential life duties. Energy for adolescents, adaptability, humor, and integrity are the hallmarks of Millbrook's faculty.
