Position Purpose As part of the graduate admissions team, this position recruits and enrolls international students into graduate programs as part of the overall admissions plan. The International Admission Counselor is responsible for achieving enrollment goals for assigned programs. Critical components of this position is the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment. In addition, the international counselors are responsible for communicating effectively and providing accurate information about New England College's International programs, and processing international applications and associated federal paperwork.
Essential Duties Summary
Provide top of pipeline support for inquiring students. Ability to answer standard frequently asked questions and move the perspective students further along the application pipeline.
Support Sr. International Counselors with Application reviews and approvals.
Work with prospective students and applicants from diverse cultures via email, phone, and in person to provide exceptional service;
Work professionally with adult, working professional student populations.
Advise prospective students to determine their educational goals and actively guide them through each phase of the admissions process;
Use strong attention to detail skills to process leads and applications through Banner and CRM;
Monitor application files to ensure admissions requirements are met.
Evaluate application files in order to make application decisions based on NEC policy and federal requirements.
Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to address and resolve student issues and ensure positive student experiences. Address potential and/or current student concerns and seek appropriate resolution to problems.
Maintain professional working relationships with our international recruiters to assure a constant flow of potential first-time international students.
Understanding of different cultural hindrances and ability to provide seamless customer service in order to prepare this international population for success.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
Collaborate with multiple internal departments to ensure a seamless transition for our students and an exceptional student experience.

Exceptional interpersonal, customer service and communication skills;
Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment;
Should be detail-oriented, and have the ability to organize effectively;
Must demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
Ability to resolve problems and to develop relevant alternatives and recommendations;
Experience
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
Experience with Banner and a CRM tool is preferred.
Experience working with a multi-cultural population is preferred
