In support of academic excellence, the Dean of Digital Learning provides ongoing support, and development to teachers, JK-12, with an emphasis on embedding emerging technologies and supporting student-centered classroom instruction. This is an exempt 12-month position in our school.
MICDS is looking for a dynamic individual with teaching experience to lead our Digital Learning processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, project manager, collaborative, divergent thinker who embraces creativity, with the ability to build consensus amongst diverse groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Digital Instructional Technology
Leads instructional technology and digital literacy programs.
Evaluates current school-wide instructional technology resources.
Manages and reviews the School’s use of its learning management system (Canvas).
Seeks ways to naturally integrate technology into all JK-12 curricular areas.
Manage projects in partnership with the technology department.
• Faculty Development
Serves as our in-house guide for teachers’ use of Canvas.
Conducts one-on-one instructional coaching with teachers.
Shares resources and supports teachers who are trying new instructional practices.
Assists in onboarding new teachers in partnership with the Dean of Faculty and the JK-12 Department Chairs.
Observes and co-teaches lessons with faculty to support the refinement of instructional practices.
Develops interventions, including the use of assistive technologies, for students who are not meeting expectations in academic subject areas in partnership with Department Chairs and the Support Services team.
Collaborate with teachers to implement meaningful and effective technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Assist faculty in using AI, digital tools, and emerging technologies to create engaging and differentiated instruction.
• Curriculum Mapping in Canvas
Annually updates the school’s Canvas curriculum map for accuracy.
Annually reviews the school’s curriculum map to identify individual and institutional priorities in partnership with the JK-12 Department Chairs.
Assists in the development and implementation of new JK-12 curriculum strands, including digital literacy and citizenship.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. or B.S. degree, Master's degree preferred.
Five or more years of classroom teaching experience.
Experience in a library or educational technology preferred.
