Kent School seeks a girls rowing assistant coach for the 2024-2025 season who is committed to the growth and well-being of our students. An ideal candidate will have previous experience coaching with a high school, club, or college program and possess sound technical knowledge of the fundamentals of rowing and rigging.
This new staff member would be expected to work as part of a team of coaches, contributing to the design of training sessions, athlete development, and race preparation of crews. The candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, and athletic and school administration.
This role can be combined with any open full-time teaching position or open department vacancies for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
? Serving in either a teaching role or department role in keeping with the mission, values, and standards established by Kent School;
? Coaching two-three seasons of rowing
? Performing regular duty in our residential program (if hired as faculty)
? Participating in Faculty committees (if hired as faculty)
? Serving as Advisor to 5-7 students (if hired as faculty)
? Maintaining Public Passenger Endorsement to drive a school vehicle for school activities.

As Assistant Coach duties and responsibilities, include:
? Planning and leading practice sessions
? Creating strategies to build a competitive and positive team environment
? Assist with all phases of directing and managing a successful rowing program
? Mentoring student-athletes to develop sportsmanship and respect of the game
? Recruiting new student-athletes for the team
Additional Requirements:
? Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment background checks and drug test;
? Maintain punctual and regular attendance;
? Work is performed on a smoke free campus.
