The Director of Graduate and Online Admissions leads and manages the graduate and online student recruitment process for Belmont University, serving as a key member of the leadership team within the Division of Enrollment Services. The director is responsible for the recruitment and admission of students to increase enrollment in graduate, degree completion and certificate programs, and to achieve enrollment objectives, academic program expansion, and financial revenue targets.
A key strategic member of the enrollment management senior team charged with comprehensive graduate and online student recruitment and enrollment, the incumbent will formulate strategic enrollment management plans to attract, recruit and enroll highly qualified graduate students for on-campus and online programs. The director will assess current practices, and propose and pilot new, technology-enhanced and data-driven enrollment strategies. As a member of Enrollment Services senior staff, the director will contribute to ongoing admissions data analysis and goal setting. The Director of Graduate and Online Admissions supervises, trains, mentors, and motivates the admissions staff to achieve and surpass enrollment goals by providing excellent, student-focused customer service. The incumbent will lead the daily graduate admissions effort according to vision and strategies approved by the Executive Director of Admissions, the Vice President for Enrollment Services and the Vice President for Educational Innovation. The Director of Graduate and Online Admissions will develop recruitment goals and projections and collaborate with enrollment services, faculty, and academic staff to achieve these goals, as well as provide strong leadership in benchmarking, innovation, technology, and continuous improvement. Must understand regional and national graduate and online enrollment trends in higher education.
The director will manage and lead the graduate enrollment services counselors and serve as the primary graduate admissions connection (with the Executive Director’s direction) to those serving in graduate admissions-related roles in various colleges, schools, and departments.
The incumbent will develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and critical success factors (CSFs) to ensure robust graduate and online student enrollment for both traditional on-campus programs and emerging online programs.
Proficient in enrollment modeling and analytics to shape and project enrollment trends.
Through collaborative teamwork and communication, the director will proactively assess and evaluate new program development in concert with the Executive Director, Vice President for Enrollment and Vice President for Educational Innovation.
Hire, lead and provide day-to-day direction to the graduate admissions counselors by providing training and support for all graduate admissions processes.
Collaborate with appropriate campus colleagues to develop articulations and accelerated pathways programs.
Convene and manage a graduate admissions council comprised of colleagues from across the university.
Provide counsel and remain active in all key graduate and undergraduate admissions processes, ensuring that undergraduate and graduate admissions benefit from similar and appropriate best practices.
Assist with research and strategic marketing efforts aimed at graduate and online enrollment.
Collaborate with university marketing team to develop and maintain robust communication plans.
Work closely with Director of Enrollment Search to strategize ways to increase the inquiry pool for graduate and online programs as well as SOE strategies.
Provide supportive leadership to all recruiting events coordinated by the Admissions Office.
Cultivate strong applicant relationships and tracking recruitment performance from inquiry through to registration.
Coordinate international recruitment efforts with the office of international education.
Coordinate admissions efforts with admissions personnel in the colleges and schools.
Participate in cross-functional improvement teams and initiatives.
Assist other offices within Enrollment Services and Student Life as assigned.
The director may be asked to represent the Executive director in her absence.
Work closely alongside the campus visit team to provide visit opportunities for all graduate and online programs.
Participate in campus events designed to bring students and recommenders to campus for visitation.
Maximize yields at all stages of the enrollment cycle.
Work closely with Belmont’s CRM, data warehouse, and outside application systems (CAS, Liaison, etc.) to streamline and enhance the prospective student application process and communication plan.
Collaborate with the office of assessment and institutional research to manage data warehouse collection and processes.
Collaborate with director of student financial services to manage financial aid budgets for graduate and online cohorts.

Demonstrated firsthand expertise in the development, management, understanding, and maintenance of complex statistical and data models used for the analysis of admissions/recruitment data and development of projections and other forecasting tools.
Experience with and networked in the Council of Graduate Schools.
