Under general guidance, assists with leading and supporting a professional, efficient, and service-oriented operation that provides full-range financial aid services. This role is also responsible for the automated financial aid system.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the automated financial aid system and monitors the computer software capability to insure loan processing according to federal regulations and procedure.
Reviews and evaluates financial aid applications. Verifies documentation submitted by students and families and utilizes professional judgment to evaluate changed circumstances.
Responsible for the Physician Assistant Program's financial aid, including but not limited to, counseling, financial aid applications, loan processing, publications, entrance and exit interviews and developing and maintaining a scholarship database.
Responsible for all aspects of summer Work-Study program including billing and reconciliation of funds.
Develops routine and ad hoc reports and analyses that support ongoing financial aid projections and strategic short-term and long term goals. Ensure integrity of financial aid data to allow for accurate reporting.
Assists with the creation of presentations involving financial aid data and statistics.
Develops and maintains the electronic system for all student financial aid documentation, including primary care/undeserved employment for federal programs.
Develops a scholarship/financial resources database for students on a gap research year.
Represents Weill Cornell Medicine at appropriate professional meetings.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience
Approximately 2 years of related experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must and experience with student information systems.
Attention to detail, patience and a positive, customer-centric attitude.
