Position Summary

Under general guidance, assists with leading and supporting a professional, efficient, and service-oriented operation that provides full-range financial aid services. This role is also responsible for the automated financial aid system.


Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of the automated financial aid system and monitors the computer software capability to insure loan processing according to federal regulations and procedure.
• Reviews and evaluates financial aid applications. Verifies documentation submitted by students and families and utilizes professional judgment to evaluate changed circumstances.
• Responsible for the Physician Assistant Program's financial aid, including but not limited to, counseling, financial aid applications, loan processing, publications, entrance and exit interviews and developing and maintaining a scholarship database.
• Responsible for all aspects of summer Work-Study program including billing and reconciliation of funds.
• Develops routine and ad hoc reports and analyses that support ongoing financial aid projections and strategic short-term and long term goals. Ensure integrity of financial aid data to allow for accurate reporting.
• Assists with the creation of presentations involving financial aid data and statistics.
• Develops and maintains the electronic system for all student financial aid documentation, including primary care/undeserved employment for federal programs.
• Develops a scholarship/financial resources database for students on a gap research year.
• Represents Weill Cornell Medicine at appropriate professional meetings.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in related field

Experience

Approximately 2 years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must and experience with student information systems.
• Attention to detail, patience and a positive, customer-centric attitude.
