The Wheeler School, a co-ed, N-12 independent day school with city and farm campuses serving approximately 800 students in the Greater Providence and Greater Boston areas, is seeking a full-time Upper School Science Teacher for one year to join our Upper School.

We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in Environmental Science (a science degree is required), experience with outdoor education, a deep commitment to the experience of the student, an interest in innovation and inquiry based learning, an ability to teach a range of learners, and strong collaborative skills. As a teacher at Wheeler you will become part of a dynamic and passionate faculty and work with talented and engaged students every day. The position also involves serving as an advisor to upper schoolers, including related advising responsibilities. Bachelor’s degree required.

The Wheeler School is a Nursery through Grade 12 co-ed independent day school founded in 1889 in Providence, Rhode Island located on College Hill on the East Side of Providence. Wheeler is comprised of four divisions, Lower School (N-5), Middle School (6-8), Upper School (9-12), and Hamilton School (1-8), the latter a special school- within-a-school for students with learning differences.
