Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for all administrative areas of the organization; sets operating standards and practices; ensures sound fiscal management; and ensures compliance with university policies. In collaboration with the COO/Executive Advisor and the CLS Executive Team, determines which areas of the organization would benefit from department-level shared services. Evaluate staffing plans and options, and monitor progress.
Oversees all administrative functions and initiatives across the Campus Life Service enterprise ensuring CLS's 10 units operate on an efficient and consistent basis, with adequate administrative support, and at the highest standards. Exercises independent judgment in developing shared services.
Oversees an administrative service center for CLS departments that may not have sufficient internal resources to execute basic administrative functions or perform integrated programmatic support or seasonal projects/initiatives. Uses influence and expertise to gain trust in advising 10 unique CLS departments. Develop and implement strategies to enhance administrative operations and support the organization's mission. Drive the formulation and execution of long-term strategic plans that align with organizational objectives.
Partners with the Finance and Administrative Services (FAS) Director - Policy and Administration, the CLS Director of People & Culture, and the CLS Director of Communications to communicate policy and procedural information across all CLS departments.
Establish, modify, and enforce policies and procedures to improve administrative functions and ensure consistency across the organization. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, recommending adjustments as necessary.
Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing resources. Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget. Involved in developing, modifying and executing organizational policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have organization-wide effect.
M-F, 8-5; flexible; on-site with occasional remote work possible with supervisor approval.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $173,400 - $260,200 (Annual Rate).
