Description Applications are invited for the position of Associate Dean (AD) in the Imperial Valley campus. This is an internal search for one associate deanships at the Imperial Valley site with office located at the Calexico campus. The AD position will be working at the Imperial Valley campus during the work week. The appointee works directly with the Dean, the Imperial Valley Campus Administrator, the Dean of Students and the Assistant Director of Facilities Services & Projects in the day-to-day operations of the campus. The AD position focus primarily on the academic affairs of the University such as Tenure Track & Tenured Faculty hires, Lecturer hires, faculty evaluations for Tenure Track & Tenured Faculty and Lecturers, committee assignments, ensure HSI status for the campus, facilitates Sabbatical leaves, oversee the assigned time for research, oversee the scheduling of courses and programs of all courses for the academic year, collaborate on the management of the campus budget, review and approve Faculty Travel, attend Administrative meetings, equipment needs identification, collaborate with joint appointment colleges, manage the Library at Imperial Valley, represent SDSU in the community, oversee the student outreach and recruitment program, and responsible for managing Enrollment services.
Associate Deans (ADs) assist in directing, overseeing, and promoting the different programs offered by the Imperial Valley and creating new academic programs at the Imperial Valley. The position reports directly to the Dean of the Campus and acts on behalf of the Dean in her absence or when otherwise directed to do so by the Dean.
Qualifications
Associate professor status
Previous administrative or committee experience at the departmental, college, or university level.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Demonstrated commitment to principles of shared governance.
Ability to represent Deans Office reliably and effectively to both internal and external constituencies
