Carrollton’s inaugural school psychologist is charged with enriching the health and wellness of the students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate is a person who excels at creating new programs and implementing strategies that include working with multiple constituencies. She/he is a licensed expert in child psychology who is experienced with managing other health professionals such as counselors, learning specialists, nutritionists, and nurses. The school psychologist will lead a team of professionals who provide forward-thinking support to students and adults that will assist them in becoming the best version of themselves for the world.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
A commitment to the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart network schools as articulated in the school mission
Provide services to students and staff including:
Onsite mental health first aid that funnels to ongoing outside services when necessary
Support groups and debriefs
High-risk/high-level interventions to support the counseling department
Liaison between Carrollton and outside providers and resources
Provide ongoing mental health education programming, with the primary goal of prevention, to students, faculty, and parents.
Work closely with school leaders, administration, counselors, nurses, and teachers in order to support the needs of students and staff.
Review and develop policies and procedures for the school’s health and wellness program.
Monitor compliance of the school’s program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and policies.
Oversee the development and maintenance of health reports and records for the Head of School, board of education, and health department.
Collaborate with other professionals and agencies in designing and providing a school health program.
Oversee professional and medical services essential to the school health and wellness program.
Maintain the currency and security of school health records
Serve as the point person for health and wellness issues.
Provide staff development on health-related topics for school staff and volunteers.
Review psychoeducational evaluations and make recommendations on how the school can best support students
Provide follow-up evaluations on students as required.
Recommend corrective action where problems are identified.
Correspond with parents on the health needs of children.
Utilize research to inform best practices
Participate in reflective, self-directed, ongoing professional development
Participate in staff meetings, liturgies, retreats, school assemblies, and special events such as, but not limited to, back to school night, admissions showcases, and graduation as needed
Manage a team of counselors, nurses, and health professionals during the regular academic year and summer programming. Some responsibilities will require working outside of regular school hours. This is a 12-month exempt position.

Qualifications:
D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology
Experience managing a team
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated success with effective use of technology
Licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of Florida
Deep understanding of and ability to support girls and young women
