The Counselor is responsible for recruiting and enrolling prospective students in credit and non-credit programs (i.e., academic and workforce). The Counselor will provide exceptional customer service to support recruitment, registration, and program readiness, matriculation, and payment. The Counselor will develop and maintain relationships with prospective students and families, school counselors, community organizations, and industry and employer partners through in-person and virtual interactions. The Counselor may also manage recruitment-related project(s) outside their territory (or similar) management responsibilities.
*This position is renewed yearly based on funding.*
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Recruitment:
Plans, organizes, and manages credit and non-credit recruitment activities for a designated territory and industry
Represents CCRI at in-person and virtual visits, information sessions, fairs, and related credit and non-credit recruitment events
Completes the review of credit and non-credit applications, including application, screening, and acceptance processes up to program enrollment.
Assists with the coordination of credit and non-credit recruitment projects and outreach initiatives
Communication:
Shares credit and non-credit information with prospective students and families about registration and enrollment requirements, financial assistance and payment options, funding eligibility, and academic and career options, including credit for prior learning and transfer pathways through CRM (or similar) and presentations
Provides professional guidance to students and families about credit and non-credit educational planning
Relationship Building:
Collaborates with others to develop and implement recruitment strategies that support credit and non-credit institutional goals
Builds relationships with students, families, high school guidance counselors, community organizations, employer and industry partners, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and visibility
Serves as liaison to on-campus departments and off-campus organizations to help increase the number of applications
Works closely with other College departments, including academic departments, financial aid, One-Stop, advising, Workforce Partnerships to ensure that students have a seamless transition into credit and non-credit programs
Assists colleagues during busy times with ensuring student credit and non-credit enrollment and registration needs are met
Administration:
Evaluates the credentials of prospective students, including transcripts, test scores, etc., to determine if they meet credit and non-credit requirements
Maintains accurate records and data related to credit and non-credit enrollment, and retention
Guides international and undocumented students on required documentation and procedures for enrolling in credit and non-credit programs, as well as accessing financial assistance.
Reviews the residency status of applicants and resolves documentation issues
Participates in training and professional development opportunities to stay up to date on best practices in credit and non-credit programs in higher education
Documenting and tracking recruitment data in alignment with program and funding requirements.
Direct Student Onboarding
Coordinates and conducts credit and non-credit cohort outreach strategies that include phone calls, mailing, emailing, texting, web resources, and other forms
Support first-semester course registration as prescribed by degree, transfer evaluations and placement
tests.
Assists students, individually or in groups, with College Scheduler class registration
Provides students with an introduction to support services, technologies, and required actions (i.e., Verification of Enrollment) to support self-service behavior and success
Ensure effective hand-off to the assigned caseload advisors for support with future semester?s course
selection and registration, financial well-being, career and transfer preparation, and academic performance
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree
1 to 2 years related experience
Demonstrated experience using multiple educational technologies such as video conferencing (e.g., WebEx), student success platforms (e.g., Civitas Learning), text messaging platforms (e.g., Element 451 CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner), and degree audit solutions (e.g., Degree Works)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Demonstrated strong written and verbal skills, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality of information.
