As part of this mission, the Nursing Admissions Specialist and Advisor provides leadership in the nursing admissions process, directing the Application Evaluation Team and making admission decisions in collaboration with faculty and staff. This position evaluates all admissions applications and makes final admittance decisions based on the evaluation team input. The application process involves tracking all application materials and communicating with students on all aspects of admissions. This position ensures that accurate, timely and complete information is relayed to all prospective students regarding applications to the program.They also guide pre-nursing students and their families in understanding program options, admissions requirements, and application preparation, supporting them from initial inquiry during open-houses and advising events in collaboration with the college academic advising department through program application. This role advises nursing students on academic planning, registration, and program progression at both the Cambridge and Coon Rapids campuses. In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Nursing, the Nursing Program Specialist and Advisor, and the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, they coordinate orientation, orientation bootcamp, pinning, and outreach events, working with faculty, staff, and administration to promote program completion, foster inclusiveness and support student success across diverse populations.The position supports marketing of the program through upkeep of the website as a part of community outreach (this includes admissions criteria changes and updates to the application). ?This position will also support other Allied Health departments through training and process development in their admission processes to ensure consistency across disciplines with newly established programs.This is a full-time, 40-hour/week dual-campus position, housed in Cambridge with regular travel to Coon Rapids and other outreach sites. Core hours are Monday?Friday, 8:00 am?4:30 pm. Hours and/or days may change during summer and non-class days to meet the needs of orientation, bootcamp, pinning, and open-house events. Some weekends and evenings will apply.Minimum Qualifications:Two (2) years of professional experience working with students in an Admissions or Advising role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) is a multi-campus institution and a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The Coon Rapids Campus is located on the banks of the Mississippi River twentymiles north of downtown Minneapolis. The Cambridge Campus is located on west Highway 95 on the Rum River in Cambridge. Beginning in 1965 with 600 students in a wing of Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has grown considerably. In 1967 the college moved to the current Coon Rapids Campus of approximately 103 acres. The Cambridge Campus opened in 1978 and has shown consistent growth in enrollment and facilities. In addition, students may complete many ARCC college courses at convenient off-site locations throughout neighboring communities. During the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 11,000 students completed credit classes at the college.
