Position Information: Under close supervision of higher-level K-14 Academic Preparation Specialists, uses K-14 academic preparation professional concepts and practices by working with assigned sites to implement academic preparation programs.
The full salary range for the High School Advisor is $22.65 - $37.60 per hour. However, the expected pay is up to $25.43 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Basic knowledge working with a diverse student population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation and socio-economic status.
Basic knowledge and understanding of K-14 education.
Basic knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), and the ability to explain procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts.
Basic knowledge of academic programs, including curricula and admissions requirements at higher education institutions.
Basic knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work Monday through Friday (8:00 am-5:00 pm) occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, plan, and help coordinate educational programs that meet specific needs for program participants
