Overview
NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Academic Advisor in the Undergraduate College. The Academic Advisor will provide academic advising, general counseling, and student services for prospective, new, and currently enrolled students, primarily within the Stern School of Business. The incumbent will develop and coordinate academic advising programming, promote study away opportunities, and interview candidates for international exchanges, student leadership positions, and Stern-sponsored programs. The selected candidate will also contribute to the communication and marketing of academic programs, policies, updates, and key deadlines - including registration information - through digital platforms, including website content management, email campaigns, social media engagement, and virtual information sessions. This role will also serve as an Advising and Stern representative at a variety of events within and outside the business school.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (a Master's Degree is preferred) and 3+ years relevant experience in counseling or student personnel administration and event planning experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The selected candidate will have excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills and the ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty and outside groups. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of detail and familiarity with Microsoft Suite and Google Suite is expected. Requires some evening and weekend work. Candidates should be creative, innovative, and dynamic.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $78,001.00.New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
