Admissions Counselors connect with prospective students and stakeholders to provide information about university programs and offer guidance on the application and enrollment process. As a member of the Recruitment Team, an Admissions Counselor will lead daily information sessions and participate in various recruitment activities, including on-campus events, off-campus school visits and college fairs, and virtual visits. This position will be based on-campus in Mankato but will travel regularly to an assigned geographic territory.Responsibilities and ResultsDescribe and promote Minnesota State Mankato to prospective students and stake holders and offer guidance on the application and enrollment process via various communication channels and participation at on-campus and off-campus recruitment activities. â“ 50%Manage recruitment activities and maintain relationships in an assigned geographic territory. This involves organizing an extensive travel plan that includes overnight stays for extended periods of time. â“ 20%Review application materials in consideration of prospective studentsâ™ college readiness in order to recommend an admission decision. -20%Plan, implement, and evaluate additional projects as requested by the supervisor. About Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, System Office
With its 31 institutions, including 24 two-year colleges and seven state universities, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The colleges and universities operate 54 campuses in 47 Minnesota communities and serve about 250,000 students in credit-based courses. Overall, the system produces about 33,500 graduates each year. In addition to credit-based courses, the system offers customized training programs that serve about 153,200 employees from 6,000 Minnesota businesses each year. The law creating the system was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 1991 and went into effect July 1, 1995. The law merged the state's community colleges, technical colleges and state universities into one system. The system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
