The Ross Central Events team provides expert strategic, operational and logistical event planning guidance and support to various departments across the Ross community including, but not limited to, school-wide events such as Commencement, high profile speaker events, Ross advisory board meetings, alumni events, student conferences, annual award events. This role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI 3 days per week. Travel to various locations on and off campus (locally) is required. Event Coordination & Budget Oversight (50%)
Assist event hosts in budgeting, planning, and executing events
Provide strategic budget recommendations in collaboration with the Senior Events Manager
Negotiate with on- and off-campus vendors and manage contracts
Develop event logistics, timelines, staffing plans, and event materials
Event Planning Advisory (20%)
Serve as a strategic advisor for assigned departments on event planning
Act as a resource for colleagues and respond to inquiries.
Event Administration (20%)
Oversee event documentation, calendars, budgets, and shared resources
Develop organizational systems, templates, and tools for efficient planning
Other (10%)
Support special projects and tasks as assigned by the Director of School Events
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of planning and executing virtual and in-person events, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience coordinating across teams and managing vendor relationships
Experience navigating databases, generating reports and analyzing data
Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Salary Information:
The posting range for this position is $52,300 - $64,550. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
