Job Description:
Leads and collaborates with others in activities related to the college's academic affairs programs, including college curriculum committee, articulation agreements, career services, as well as shared student tuition revenue and resource management across the University.
Provides leadership to foster interprofessional education and practice, scholarship, and community collaborations.
Supports recruiting, retaining and evaluating faculty, staff and students and supports belonging, wellness, and accessibility efforts of the college and the University.
Facilitates CHHS strategic plan implementation and assessment.
Oversees the Student Engagement Center including Student Services, Enrollment Management, Outreach and Recruitment and Marketing/Communications (e.g., advising, recruitment, retention success, marketing/communication).
Pursues collaborations with external partners and stakeholders in academic affairs across the colleges and across institutions.
Facilitates university, college and departmental academic program review and accreditation review and assessment with particular emphasis on undergraduate programs.
Develops programs for and provides mentorship to new and existing Chairs and Directors in the college and facilitates equity and growth opportunities for all leaders regardless of role.
Promotes university goals and policies and advocates for WMU and its students, faculty and staff by adhering to all University policies and practices, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and laws as related to the college.
Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the dean and provides service to the college, the University and the community.
Short Job Description:
An earned doctorate in a discipline relevant to the College of Health and Human Services from an accredited institution.
A record of academic achievement and eligibility for a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.
Demonstrated leadership experience in academic administration, such as associate dean, program director, department chair, or similar role.
Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation processes.
A commitment to fostering student success and faculty development.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
