Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - faculty positions within the university that are not tenure track and not eligible for tenure; on a fixed term contract. Persons with the title of professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, assistant professor-clinical and instructor-clinical. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty department and, as appropriate, regional campus; Clinical faculty are teacher/practitioners and will be engaged primarily in teaching activities. These faculty normally have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or equivalent experience.
Job Description
The Department of Human Sciences in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) Clinical Assistant Professor in the Sport Industry program. This position is articulated as 80% teaching (24 credits per year) and 20% service with the possibility of up to 10% FTE afforded to research. The Sport Industry program within Kinesiology is consistently ranked among the top programs in the country based on its vibrant curriculum, making it a preeminent place for the professional development of students and faculty. Building on this record of excellence, the goal of this search is to add a promising instructor to an internationally renowned team of faculty. We seek candidates with an excellent record of teaching and service relative to the Clinical Assistant Professor rank. Preference will be granted to candidates who demonstrate excellence in their teaching and service agendas, and who offer evidence of sustained impact. Our undergraduate program is the largest in the College of Education and Human Ecology and has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past several years. Our program also has numerous collaborations with external industry partners.
Candidate Expectations
Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate (and potentially graduate) courses; mentor undergraduate students; lead the undergraduate program; and provide service at the department level.
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in Sport Management, or a closely related field and demonstrated teaching competency in a variety of Sport Industry classes.
