Oak Hill School seeks a creative and collaborative candidate as an Upper School Bible and Service Learning (SALT) teacher. This faculty member will join a nurturing, Christian community committed to the School’s mission and vision for building a diverse and inclusive community where all children learn, grow, and thrive. The Upper School Bible and SALT teacher will guide students toward a strong spiritual foundation as a means toward developing character and integrity for a lifetime of learning and service. The candidate will demonstrate a love of working with children, an engaging teaching style, and the ability to interact well with parents, community partners, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Assist in the nurture, care and spiritual development of students
Plan and teach Upper School Bible classes and Service Learning (SALT) classes for 4th-6th grade students.
Organize and lead Service Learning field trips for 4th-6th grade students
Partner with PreK-6th grade teachers to incorporate Service Learning into curriculum and daily life at Oak Hill School.
Co-lead a Service elective for 5th and 6th grade students and lead Hearts of Service Day for the school (an annual day of service).
Partner with the lower school Bible teacher in the development and implementation of Oak Hill’s Christian education curriculum.
Partner with the Lower School Bible Teacher to assist in leading bi-weekly chapel services for 2nd-6th grades in addition to Advent and Lent services.
Serve as an advisor to a group of 5th or 6th grade students.
Facilitate and lead 6th Grade Capstone experience as well as several leadership retreats for 5th and 6th grade throughout the year.
Serve as a member of the Social, Emotional, and Spiritual Life (SESL) committee.
Be an active member of the Enrichment team and participate in a Professional Learning Community (PLC).
Support a positive, collaborative, and supportive school climate among the faculty, staff, and students

Prompt and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Educational Background and Work Experience:
BA or higher in mastery content, ideally with a MA in Christian Education or other commensurate degree.
Statement of faith provided with cover letter and resume
2-3 years experience of teaching or working with children is preferred
