Job Overview
The Assistant Director of the Embedded Program at the University of Cincinnati - Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) within the Division of Student Affairs reports directly to the Associate Director of Community Engagement and Operations. The Assistant Director serves on the CAPS Leadership Team alongside the Associate Directors of Community Engagement and Clinical Services, as well as the Assistant Director of Training. Additional CAPS staff members include senior staff psychologists, clinical counselors, social workers, support staff members, clinical fellows, psychology doctoral interns, doctoral graduate assistants, and doctoral practicum students in counseling psychology.
Essential Functions
? Responsible for the overall direction of a specific program of the Counseling Center (Training, Outreach, Assessment, and Care Management).
? Responsible for the overall direction of the Embedded Program of the Counseling Center
? Prepare, submit, and administer the program annual budget, as well as authorize and approve expenditures, allocation of funds, and hiring process.
? Consult with other Embedded Programs in universities for best practices.
? Develop and maintain strong communication with CAPS leadership and leadership within the Colleges.
? May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
? Perform related duties based on departmental need.
? Provides direct clinical and outreach services to students, individual and group counseling, and urgent intervention when necessary.
? Provide leadership in the organization and operation of the training program to include creating supervision plans and training of trainees. Managing all documentation to academic programs regarding evaluation of student trainees.
? Create and organize all levels of operation (e.g., policy and procedures, outreach, scheduling)
? Confer and consult with Director to ensure compliance with departmental and university policies and procedures to make critical decisions.
Required Education
Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology
Required Trainings/Certifications
Current licensure or licensure eligible as a social worker, marriage and family therapist, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio. License must be achievede within six (6) months of hire.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of clinical experience in an administrative capacity in student personnel or counseling.
Ability to supervise in their discipline.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD), or Doctorate of Education (EdD)
Current licensure or license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Ohio
Completion of APA accredited internship in psychology
Experience in college mental health
