When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring hourly rate for this position is $23.00 to $24.00. On campus apartment is provided. This hourly rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Resident Director (RD) position is essential to the core mission of the Office of Residence Life, and it is part of a team that provides leadership and support for Molloy’s residential student population. The RD provides oversight for a staff of Resident Assistants (RAs) and assigned building or area. This includes working with the Residence Life team members and Division of Student Affairs staff on facilities, operations and programmatic endeavors to ensure student support and success while on campus. This is a live-in position, and the RD is expected to be available after hours and on weekends/holidays. The RD is expected to be a strong communicator committed to overall student success and overall customer service. The RD will also serve as the primary advisor for the Residence Hall Council (RHC) and will support them with all programming initiatives within the three residence halls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide overnight duty coverage for the residence halls responding to crises as needed. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed. Participate in on-call Administrator rotation referring to supervisor and campus resources as needed (Public Safety, Counseling Center, etc.).
Supervise a staff of Resident Assistants (RAs) in an assigned area and oversee all programmatic endeavors for assigned area and residential students overall. Coordinate the training, development, and evaluation of assigned RA staff. Serve as the primary advisor for the Residence Hall Council (RHC) to create programmatic opportunities for all residential students and advocacy opportunities.
Create consistent and intentional efforts to interact with students and provide opportunities for student growth and development. Goals include developing a supportive, welcoming and inclusive community for all residents in support of Molloy and the Division of Student Affairs mission.
Actively participate in room selection, Resident Assistant (RA) selection, and other Residence Life processes. Assist the Residence Life staff in planning and implementing major events, including, but not limited to, Move-In Days, Family Weekend, Admissions Tours and Recruitment events, Openings and Closings of buildings for each break, etc.
Collaborate with team members and Student Affairs department to provide opportunities for connection and communication with students including maintaining Residence Life social media outlets, website, and digital communications. Develops and maintains positive relationships with students, faculty and staff and all members of the Molloy University.

Bachelor's degree
RA during undergrad for at least one year
1 to 3 years of work related experience

Master’s degree in student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or related field
