Job Summary
Under the direction of the Counseling Services (CS) Director of Academic Satellites at Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS), this position serves as a Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and has recognized expertise in specific areas performs professional patient/client care (individual, partner, group, crisis intervention, and case management) for UC Davis School of Law students. This work requires analysis of unique issues which may be without precedent. Provides management of campus-wide programs on education, multicultural concerns, and prevention, formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. Functions with a high degree of autonomy, and provides supervision and training to Counseling Services trainees in an APA accredited internship and APPIC-member postdoctoral program. Consults with faculty and staff on issues relevant to student educational performance and emotional well-being. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team. Complies with professional requirements of SHCS and UC Davis policies and procedures as well as all State and Federal professional legal requirements. May provide supervision and training to Counseling Service trainees in an APA accredited internship and APPIC-member postdoctoral program.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Masters level clinical/counseling degree (e.g. LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) required. Masters level applicants are governed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and are required to possess a valid California license. Masters therapist applicants possessing a valid license in another state must obtain California licensure within 30 days of job offer. Current CPR Certification.
Current CPR certification or obtain within 90 days.
Experience treating individuals from diverse social, cultural, or socio-cultural backgrounds using short-term models of individual psychotherapy and counseling.
Experience assessing and intervening with individuals in crisis.
Interest in and experience providing psycho-educational outreach presentations.
Experience treating diverse clients using short-term models of individual and group psychotherapy/counseling.
Experience establishing professional work relationships.
Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and treatment interventions.
Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with historically underrepresented or underserved student communities (e.g. LGBTQIA, African Diaspora, Chicanx/Latinx, Native American, etc.).
Experience working in a university counseling service with strong student service orientation.
Ability to provide supervision to predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees.
Knowledge of ethical, legal and university standards and regulations.

Department Overview
Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides primary care, mental health, acute care, laboratory, pharmacy, optometry, health education and counseling services to registered UC Davis students. SHCS serves approximately 300 patients per day during the school year. The mission is to provide campus health and wellness resources that enable students to successfully achieve their academic goals and lifelong wellness. SHCS has approximately 180 staff including managers, senior professionals, professional and support staff, student employees, and pre and postdoctoral psychology trainees. SHCS is accredited by AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), IACS (International Association for Counseling Services) and APA (American Psychological Association). Work Environment
UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Position is subject to pre-placement screening provided by Occupational Health Services. This is done to meet Federal, State and University requirements.
