GENERAL DUTIES: The Upper School is committed to providing graduates with all the skills needed to be strong leaders in a global society through service, leadership and innovation. To that end we are looking for a teacher to oversee our Leadership and Entrepreneurship curriculum. This position will plan and teach our Upper School Leadership and Entrepreneurship classes, and will develop curriculum for the Lower School Dream Lab and Middle School mini-mesters. The ideal candidate will bring branding, marketing, communication, design thinking and innovation to the classroom. The candidate will ideally be an active member of the community and build and nurture relationships and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Expand curriculum for Leadership and Entrepreneurship programming.
Instruct all sections of semester-long Upper School Leadership courses with an emphasis on communication, personal branding, marketing, team building, self-awareness, and entrepreneurial skills.
Instructs full-year Entrepreneur classes utilizing design thinking and emphasizing a mindset for change and enhancing creativity.
Prepare Entrepreneur students to submit a business or social concept to Diamond Challenge Competition annually.
Host a Leadership Pitch event each semester with the outside community serving as panel members for feedback.
Serve as the faculty advisor for Ursuline’s student-run business, Angela’s Café.
Provides programming for the 1893 IDEA Space that maximizes use of Fab Lab, Finance Hub and Tech Center.
Cultivates partnerships within the local community.
Attends the annual University of Delaware Horn EntreX.
Participates in monthly EntreX teacher meet-ups.
Moderate student EntreX Club.
Develops and maintains a safe and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning.
Aligns instruction to a standards-based unit plan/scope and sequence.
Utilizes supplied materials/unit plans and project-based learning to enhance the student learning experience.
SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Attends Graduation Ceremonies, Back to School Nights, Conferences, Open Houses, school-sponsored extracurricular events, pep rallies, assemblies, community meetings, special events, etc. and serves as chaperone, as required.
Demonstrates support of students through attendance at social and extracurricular events across divisions.
Serves as a positive ambassador for Ursuline Academy in the community. Demonstrates a willingness to serve the school community with time and talents in activities outside of the classroom.
Assists in upholding and supporting school rules.
COMMUNICATION
Maintains an updated course page and accurate, up-to-date student records. ? Posts major assignments/assessments on the Test Calendar at least 1 week prior to the due date.
Writes specific, individual, and constructive comments on report cards/progress reports.
Actively communicates with students and families within 24 hours when students’ performance is of concern.
Responds to any parent communication within 1 business day and documents phone communication with follow-up email.
Posts grades to online gradebook in a timely manner.

Exhibits expertise in curricular area(s) by remaining up-to-date on research and trends, attending professional development opportunities, when needed.
Models professional qualities of discretion, confidentiality, and respect through interpersonal relationships with colleagues, students, and families.

Performs duties as assigned including car line, cafeteria monitoring, library coverage, etc. as required by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education; Master’s Degree in Education preferred.
5 or more years teaching experience.
Experience with curriculum development.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Experience in business or non-profit business preferred.
Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
