The math department seeks a candidate who is prepared to teach math at both the Middle and Upper School levels. Specific course assignments will depend on the strengths of the candidate and the needs of the department, but could range from pre-algebra to calculus. This role involves teaching full-time, serving as an advisor for 10-15 middle or upper school students, and participating fully in the life of the department and the division.
The successful candidate will be able to develop a healthy rapport with Middle and Upper School students, work collaboratively with colleagues in the department, and embrace Waterford School’s mission, vision, and values in curriculum, teaching, and membership in the community.
Competencies and Skills Desired
- Two or more years of classroom teaching at the middle or high school level
- An advanced degree in mathematic, the teaching of mathematics, or adjacent field
- A desire to collaborate
- Experience in a classroom
- Integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence
- Engaging interpersonal skills

- Strengths in organization and follow through
