Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours/week
Campus Location: Lynn/Danvers, with the possibility of one remote day per week.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (evenings and weekends as needed)
SALARY: Anticipated salary range $130,000.00 - $140,000.00. Actual salary is commensurate with experience and education. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Dean of Liberal Studies requires a commitment to advancing access, equity, and DEIJ, as well as promoting the value of multilingualism. The Dean will lead strategic initiatives, foster curricular innovation, and support programs and faculty to align with the College's mission and Strategic Plan. The Dean will collaborate across departments to ensure the Division contributes to the College's efforts to serve a diverse student body and meet the region's workforce and academic needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Champion DEIJ and Multilingualism: Foster a culture of access, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of divisional operations. Promote the value of multilingualism through our HSI status and dual language programming as a key asset for student success and the region's workforce.
Strategic Leadership: Lead strategic planning efforts for the Division, aligning goals with the College's mission and Strategic Plan. Support initiatives that advance equity and inclusion, particularly for historically underserved and multilingual students.
Curriculum and Program Development: Collaborate with faculty to develop and revise curriculum that reflects diverse perspectives and supports equitable student outcomes. Lead academic program review and align offerings with workforce and transfer needs.
Faculty and Staff Support: Hire, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty and staff within the Division. Promote professional development opportunities to enhance equity-focused teaching and learning practices.
Early College and Community Partnerships: Collaborate with the Post-Secondary Transitions Office to support Early College Liberal Studies sections. Foster partnerships with community organizations to expand educational access.
Student Success and Support: Address student inquiries, concerns, and challenges with an equity-minded approach. Implement practices and policies to support student success, retention, and completion.
Operational Management: Oversee course scheduling, enrollment management, and divisional budgeting. Develop and manage grant proposals to support innovative programming.
Advocacy and Representation: Advocate for the Liberal Studies Division within institutional planning and decision-making. Represent the College in community and professional settings to advance DEIJ and multilingualism.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Liberal Studies Faculty and Staff
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in education, educational administration, or a related field within the Liberal Arts required; Doctoral degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of academic administrative experience, with at least three years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing access, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice in higher education.
Experience in curriculum development, outcomes assessment, and program innovation, with a focus on equitable outcomes for diverse student populations.
Successful teaching experience in higher education, with community college experience preferred.
Proven ability to foster collaboration and build inclusive, supportive environments for faculty, staff, and students.
Strong understanding of the role of multilingualism in higher education and workforce development.
Candidate will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual: preferably Spanish or multilingual
