Overview
Arts Science is seeking a dynamic Community Engagement Administrator to join the College of Arts Science (CAS). This individual will develop and deliver student engagement programs and activities for CAS. Partner with CAS offices, academic departments, and other areas of the University to develop events and activities that promote engagement, connection and belonging to CAS students, faculty, and the broader NYU community. Plan a comprehensive programming strategy for students at CAS that supplement academic advising and support high impact practices that promote student success and retention. Manage all aspects of programs from conception to completion. Assist with other student engagement and large-scale CAS events such as orientations and commencement. Track event attendance, conduct post-event assessments and make programming recommendations. Promote mentorship opportunities for various student populations (international, first generation, major specific engagements with department faculty).
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Administration, Counseling, or other related field.
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant experience in student affairs and activities; event planning in a college or university setting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, analytical, oral and written communication skills. Knowledge standard office software. Ability to interact with all levels of faculty and staff. Excellent planning and problem-solving skills. Ability to work some evenings and weekends in support of events programs.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must be well versed in student affairs, student life, and success and retention strategies that promote connection and belonging in a university or college setting. Highly developed organizational skills to manage multiple timelines, projects and stakeholder interests.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
