We are currently seeking a Head Rowing Coach to join and help execute the vision of our Rowing Program to start in February 2025.
Position: Head Rowing Coach Reports to: Athletic Director FLSA Status: Stipend, part-time position, fall and spring seasons
Job Summary and Duties:
Sacred Heart Greenwich is looking for a Head Coach to lead our Rowing program at the Upper School (grades 9-12) level for the Fall and Spring Seasons. We are members of the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association (NEIRA).
Duties include: - Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition - Collaborate with coaching staff to plan, organize and run daily practices - Attend all practices and competitions at the direction of the Director of Athletics - Supervise student-athletes during all team activities - Comply with Sacred Heart and sport-specific organization policies and procedures - Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other stakeholders - Assist in maintaining equipment and advising Athletic Director on program needs - Drive the shell trailer to and from competitions - Represent Sacred Heart Greenwich at NEIRA Meetings
Typical practice times are:
4:00-6:00 pm, Monday- Friday; occasional weekends for races /and morning training sessions. All practices are held at Row America Greenwich. Occasional morning practices.
Travel with the team for practices and races is required. Races will require some weekend travel
Qualifications The ideal coaching candidate will have experience with the sport at the college level, or equivalent, expertise in teaching sport-specific skills and strategy, and the ability to relate and communicate effectively with young women.
The candidate should be energetic, approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic athletic and learning community.
