Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Inclusive Excellence, the Director of Campus Programming is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive campus-wide programming agenda that enhances student life and fosters a vibrant campus community. Incumbent also advises the DiGiorgio Student Union (DSU) and leads or coordinates various events and activities in support of Welcome Week, Homecoming, Orientation, and leadership conferences that promote student engagement, leadership and personal development.
Job Summary
Administration and Supervision
Develops and implements a comprehensive campus-wide programming agenda that aligns with the university’s mission and student needs.
Manages all aspects of the staffing process for part-time temporary staff, including selection, training, onboarding and evaluation.
Serves as the primary advisor to the DSU programming board, providing guidance and support in the planning and execution of events.
Facilitates leadership development opportunities for DSU members.
Helps DSU members develop annual goals and objectives and monitors their progress throughout the year.
Reviews and updates all policies, procedures and processes on an annual basis.
Event Coordination and Management
Coordinates and executes major campus events, including Welcome Week, Homecoming, cultural celebrations and other large-scale programs.
Meets with campus partners before events to address potential risks/liability.
Ensures all events comply with university policies and risk management guidelines.
Manages event logistics, including space reservations, vendor contracts, and coordination with facilities management and security personnel.
Establishes strong working relationships with Campus Center and other staff involved in event management, including space use and set up personnel.
Works to ensure events occur on schedule and that each event meets established goals.
Budget and Contract Management
Develops and manages the budget for campus programming, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial policies.
Advises DSU members on budgeting for their programs and events and provides oversight, guidance and leadership on financial matters.
Seeks external funding sources, such as grants and sponsorships, to support campus programming initiatives.
Manages the timeline of contract execution, from initial discussions to final sign-off, ensuring deadlines are met and vendors are paid in a timely fashion.
Marketing and Outreach
Develops and implements marketing strategies to promote campus programs and events using various platforms, including social media, university websites and print materials.
Creates and implements standards for marketing and outreach efforts that align with DSU, Student Affairs and institutional guidelines and best practices.
Works with student leaders to enhance their marketing skills and outreach efforts.
Creates and maintains a comprehensive events calendar for campus-wide distribution.
Assessment and Evaluation
Conducts needs assessments and uses student feedback to inform program planning and improvement.
Develops assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of campus programs and events.
Collects and analyzes data and prepares continuous improvement plans and reports on all aspects of programming and participant satisfaction.
Collaboration and Partnerships
Builds and maintains relationships with university departments, student organizations and community partners to provide a diverse range of programming that appeals to all student demographics.
Serves on university committees and task forces as needed.
Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages student involvement and leadership.
Serves as a liaison and facilitates membership of the DSU Advisory Board.
Serves as a leader on the Homecoming Student Experience Committee.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs or related field.
At least five years of professional experience in campus programming, student activities or related area, including some experience advising a college programming board.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating, effectively managing and marketing large-scale events and campus programs, including experience developing and executing related contracts.
Supervisory experience.
Experience in student leadership development and budget management.
