Job Description
Minimum of an LCSW license or higher level counselor license required.
Principal Duties:
Provides follow-up psychotherapy and counseling to victims and families
Understands the impact of sexual abuse/assault/exploitation on the individual and family.
Develops a therapeutic relation with client and establishes mutual treatment goals.
Assesses developmental norms and identifies problematic behavior symptomatic of sexual abuse/assault
Utilizes special techniques in assessment and treatment for children.
Assesses the environment's safety for the victim and recommends alternatives as indicated.
Provides group counseling.
Writes professional clinical summaries and court reports as requested.
Utilizes active listening skills to ascertain each patient's needs; responds in an appropriate manner.
Responds to needs of all crisis line callers in an appropriate manner in accordance with written procedures.

Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Current Maryland license in good standing as a professional counselor. Minimum of an LCSW license or higher level counselor license required.
Education/Knowledge
Attained Level: Advanced Professional
Preferred: Courses in crisis intervention and grief counseling.
Completed Course Work/Program: Masters Degree in Psychology, Counseling or related field.
Applicable Experience
Required: 1 - 3 years
