School Psychology PRODiG Fellowship
Description of Department:

The CPS Department is housed within the School of Education and prepares graduate level students in one of three programs. The School Psychology Program is nationally accredited by NASP and prepares students to work as school psychologists. The Mental Health Counseling Program prepares students to work in agency settings and leads toward New York State Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor. The Mental Health Counseling Program is CACREP accredited. The School Counseling Program prepares students to work as school counselors. The CPS Department has a long-standing reputation for developing high caliber professionals in these areas.

The Counseling & Psychological Services Department at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full-time PRODiG+ Fellowship position to teach in the School Psychology program.

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience plus full New York State benefits package.

Description of Responsibilities:

The PRODiG+ Fellow will teach a range of graduate-level courses in the National Association of School Psychologists' approved School Psychology MS/CAS program. This Fellow will also be expected to engage in scholarly activity, conduct advisement with school psychology students, and participate in university and professional service including continuing efforts toward maintaining NASP accreditation. Fellows will not be expected to teach more than two (2) courses per semester and professional development funds will be available.

The Fellow will be expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to graduate education, and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

The PRODiG+ Fellowship is a 2-year experience in which Fellows are provided a reduced course-load and individualized professional development. PRODiG+ focuses on two goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

• Earned PhD or relevant terminal degree in School Psychology or related field from an accredited institution by the start date for the position
• Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
• Demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Such experience may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.

Preferred Qualifications/Experiences:

• Experience in writing and/or implementing educational grants
• Eligibility for New York State Certification in School Psychology
• Membership in and experience with professional organizations at the state and national levels
• Current affiliation with SUNY as a student, alumni, and/or Fellow
• Lived experience as a learner/educator from a low-income background (e.g. Pell eligible as an undergraduate), as a first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, and/or are veterans.
