Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated High School Counselor to join our supportive and innovative community. The ideal candidate will help students navigate academic, emotional, social, and career development challenges. This individual will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administrators to ensure that every student is supported in achieving their personal and academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to support students' emotional, social, and academic well-being.
Develop and implement strategies to support students with executive functioning challenges, learning differences, or emotional needs.
Collaborate with students, families, and faculty to create individualized plans for academic success and post-secondary readiness.
Guide students in the college application process, including exploring career pathways, selecting colleges, preparing applications, and securing financial aid or scholarships.
Monitor academic progress and attendance, intervening when necessary to help students stay on track.
Organize and deliver workshops on topics such as emotional intelligence, stress management, and time management.
Coordinate with external professionals when additional support is required.
Serve as a resource for faculty, providing strategies to address student needs in the classroom.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school policies and legal guidelines.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
State certification or licensure as a school counselor.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school counseling role, preferably in a high school setting.
Experience working with students who have learning differences, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of college and career planning processes.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
