This is a twelve-month exempt, at-will, full-time position with the primary responsibilities of increasing student persistence via campus-wide success coaching. The position will be institutionalized at 100% after the completion of the grant.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management:
Collaborate with the external consultant, Inside Track, to support the development and implementation of the student success coaching initiative.
Coordinate and oversee the scheduling group workshops.
Ensure alignment of coaching programs with institutional goals and student success initiatives.
Develop and maintain programmatic resources (e.g., guides, workshops, training materials) for coaches and students.
Coaching/Advising and Support:
Build relationships utilizing distance delivery communication methods (phone, email, Web, social networking, etc.) to ensure proper advisement and support of off-campus students.
Provide individualized coaching to students, helping them set academic, career, and personal goals, and developing strategies for achieving them.
Communicate with students and relevant Adams State University faculty and staff on documentation required for program completion and graduation.
Provide academic advising services to undergraduate on campus students, including the use of proactive advising methods, supporting students in overcoming obstacles, developing skills and connecting them to appropriate resources.
Initiate retention contacts with advisees who are behind in registration for the subsequent semester.
Participate in departmental and committee meetings as appropriate for supporting assigned students
Participate on Academic SOS committee
Assist the Asst. Director for Academic Advising in verifying majors of newly admitted students and assigning appropriate advisors.
Collaboration and Outreach:
Serves as a point of contact and coach for the student success coaching initiative.
Develop and coordinate relationships with various campus offices (e.g., Registrar’s Office, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Support Services) to support students' needs.
Lead faculty/staff professional development, implementation, and integration of success coaching initiative in collaboration with Inside Track.
Engage in outreach efforts to identify students who may benefit from coaching, especially those in at-risk or underrepresented groups.
Data Collection and Reporting:
Work with consultant, Activity Coordinator and grant evaluator to develop/maintain a data system for monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of student success coaching initiative
Serve as a Campus Security Authority, as federally mandated under the Clery Act.
Track and analyze data on student participation, progress, and outcomes to assess the effectiveness of coaching programs.
Use data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving services and outcomes for students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in higher education student support services required
Excellent organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
Experience working with faculty, and student support services
Demonstrated commitment to student success and equity in postsecondary education.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with sensitivity and tact, and be sensitive to dynamics of difference in race, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, national origin and other types of cultural difference.
Proven leadership and management skills

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $42,252-$48,060.
