The High School Student Success Coordinator supports high school student applications and registration, and works directly with high school students, counselors, and administrators to ensure the students are supported during concurrent enrollment at Iowa Western Community College. This includes visiting area high schools, providing supportive training to high school partners, and collaborating within IWCC and our communities to set high school students up for the best long-tern success.
Assist in completing High School student registration and applications
Collaborates with Dean of High School Partnerships to provide high school counselors with IWCC/program updates.
Collaborates with Dean of High School Partnerships to create communication templates and processes for students and counselors.
Send student communications regarding orientation and handbook.
Counsels and advises high school counselors and administration for student success
Responsible for registration and orientation planning and events on campus and with high school partners
Understands protocols and assists in student conflict resolution processes
Collaborates with Career and College Transition Counselors for high school student success
Partner with campus and community associates to create innovative opportunities for high school students
Demonstrates IWCC's core mission, vision and values
Bachelor's Degree at minimum
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration
Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
Excellent customer service skills required
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Positive, enthusiastic, and dedicated to the challenges of helping high school students
Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, student-oriented team
Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
