Under supervision of the Assistant Director, this position is responsible for the tracking and compliance functions of the Federal and Texas Work-Study programs, consortiums, return of Title IV and consortium programs; interprets and applies federal, state and institutional rules and regulations governing the compliance and reporting while working with hiring departments to ensure policy is followed. Will ensure the lawful and effective operation of student employment by interpreting, developing, and enforcing policies and procedures that comply with regulatory guidelines. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring that excellent customer service is provided to students within the financial aid office.
This position normally works Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. May work beyond normal office hours to include evenings, weekends, and peak time periods.

Ensures the proper processing and documentation of student employment and monitors program compliance based on the applicable local, State, and federal laws, policies, procedures and regulations.
Assists in the quality assurance efforts of the department, to include internal auditing of student eligibility on a routine and systematic basis. Reviews FWS reports each pay period to monitor budgets, prepare projections and identify compliance issues. Maintains documentation on students to comply with audit requirements.
Reconciles monthly payroll, budget and financial reporting records to ensure timely and accurate completion of the FISAP report.
Provides technical assistance on matters related to the work study programs.
Monitors financial aid award reports for award changes, disqualifications, and reinstatements of students.Â
Monitors monthly earnings of students and notifies supervisors of eligible hours available; authorizes wage increases and payments for students.
Assists with creating and sending accurate and timely mass communications related to the administration of student employment.
This includes email templates, flow charts, and answer guides to aid in streamlining procedures directly related to Federal and State Work Study programs.
Assists with development, implementation and execution of student employment communication efforts, which includes developing and updating forms, manuals, orientation packets, student and supervisor handbooks.
Serves as liaison for students, staff and local/State agencies regarding Federal and State Work-Study programs.
Understand, interpret, and effectively communicate details of current federal, state and institutional policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to financial aid, student employment, and scholarships.
Accurately performs verification of federal financial aid application data in accordance with federal regulations.
Performs Return of Title IV for students that withdraw.
Attains and maintains knowledge of major programs and establishes administrative procedures to ensure the proper processing and documentation of awards in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and university policies.
Review financial aid awards to assure accuracy, completeness, and that the awards are in compliance with institutional and governmental guidelines.
Verify student financial aid eligibility, enrollment, an academic status using Banner.
Assists the Director in revising and/or approving the awarding of financial aid through the specific controls of program policy and guidelines.
Makes adjustments if necessary for compliance issues.
Assist with monitoring the over-award resolution process.
Resolve all over-award problems within Banner based on student receiving additional resources (scholarships and outside resources) after processing of initial award package.
Responsible for consortium agreement process to ensure students who participate in a dual enrollment agreement are receiving aid in timely and efficient manner.
Works with the loan coordinator to ensure proper processing Cultivates relationships with Alamo College constituents.
Escalates consortium agreement issues to the associate director. Â
Assists with overseeing annual updates of SOPs for the Office of Financial Aid and the development of policy and procedures related to functional responsibilities.
Compile data for institutional, fiscal, federal, and state reports on student aid as needed.
Ability to counsel prospective and enrolled students on all aspects of financial aid, to include financial management and budgeting practices as appropriate.
When needed, assists with on and off campus presentations and seminars for students (high school, prospective, admitted, and current).
Events include but are not limited to Jaguar Day and Paying for College.Â
May work at resource tables as requested by a group from A&M-SA, prospective student groups and others.
Participate on committees such as Audit, Forms, PPM/SOP, Technology, Testing, Training/Professional Development, SAP, and Social/Retreat in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Participates in the-review, revision, and interpretation of complex rules, regulations, procedures and policies· relating to general financial aid, scholarships, and team specialty area(s).
Develops effective working relationships with appropriate personnel in administrative/academic support offices (e.g., Admissions, Registrarâ™s Office, Student Business Services, etc.
Maintains punctual attendance in accordance with the defined office schedule, and/or as assigned, to facilitate excellent customer service and accurate and timely completion of all components of financial aid administration, e.g., verification, awarding, loan certification, etc.
Completes assigned goals, tasks, and projects in an accurate and timely manner.
