PRIMARY DUTIES

• Provide non-clinical outreach, triage, and follow-up with undergraduate and graduate students of concern who are experiencing significant difficulties with personal circumstances, mental or physical health, family situations, or finances.

• Develop individual student success plans, meeting regularly with students. Implement interventions supporting wellness and self-advocacy to mitigate negative impact on academics and enrollment. Monitor and document progress of students on caseload.

• Serve as a resource for students seeking assistance with academic issues and referrals to support services such as the Student Counseling Center, Educational Support and Disability Services, student emergency fund, and other campus and community resources.

• Maintain partnerships with campus departments, tutoring services, and external organizations to improve academic support.

• Assist students with interpretation and navigation of school and university policies and procedures, including potential leave of absences, withdrawals, incomplete grades, and return to enrollment after time away.

• Assist with training faculty and staff on support and referral of students in distress. Create and deliver presentations to students through classes, workshops, and student organization meetings.

• Support school and campus wellness programs through the UMSON Wellness Committee, student organizations, URec Fit and Wellness, the Counseling Center, and new initiatives.

• Maintain ongoing records management, information management, and record security and confidentiality. Provide updates on students as needed to faculty and staff advisors, program, and school administration, and UMB Student Affairs.

• Advocate for data-informed changes to policies, systems, and resources.

• Share emergency call rotation with student services leadership. May require flexibility in occasional evening or weekend hours.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
