Position Information: Supervises students and Library Assistants who are performing routine and/or largely operational duties as part of the overall operations of a library. Responsible for day-to-day operations. Provides technical guidance and resolves issues such as general communications and complaints, processing materials, and bibliographic checking. Hours may vary based on business needs, finals week, summer, and intersession periods. Must be able to work flexible hours for staffing in backup situations including days, evenings, and weekends.
The hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. This position is posted as a Interlibrary Loan Supervisor I (34414572) and a Interlibrary Loan Supervisor II (34420211). The full salary range for the is $61,000 - $106,800 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $90,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Experience Requirements
6 - 10 years of related experience. Required
Experience using Ex Libris' Alma and Primo products. Preferred
Experience using OCLC WorldShare ILL and Tipasa products. Preferred
Must be able to work flexible hours for staffing in backup situations including days, evenings, and weekends. Required

Knowledge enabling the performance of a full range of specialized duties in a functional area or specialized subject matter field; advanced problem solving and decision-making ability.
Effective supervisory and organizational leadership skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of interlibrary loan policies, procedures, and best practices within an academic research institution.
Self-management skills, including: ability to perform with frequent interruptions, ability to perform under conditions of a fluctuating workload, ability to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically and in a positive manner, and to understand, support, and communicate organizational goals, policies, and procedures to UC faculty, staff, students, and members of the general public.
Skill in gathering, analyzing and reporting workflow statistics and tracking budgets. Analyze statistics to assess impacts and trends. Use statistics to make data driven decisions.
Ability to effectively supervise personnel.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to provide work direction, coaching, and mentoring; foster work within a team framework, participate in group discussions regarding systems, procedures, and goals for the department.
Knowledge of copyright law as it pertains to interlibrary loans.
General knowledge of library practices and procedures; problem solving skills.
Ability to foster a respectful, cooperative, professional and courteous environment, maintain confidentiality, and employ tact and diplomacy.
Demonstrated ability to utilize productivity tools such as email, spreadsheet, and written documents such as the Microsoft suite or google drive products.
