The Director of Professional Programs in Accounting will lead the MS in Accounting and Business Analysis (MSABA) graduate program in conjunction with the Masters Program Office and Department of Accounting Professional Programs Committee. This includes admissions, determining merit awards, academic advising, course scheduling and student development.
Other primary duties include: - Teach 24 workload credits each academic year - Provide early outreach and advising to undergraduate students interested in the graduate program - Work with Marketing and Strategic Communications to promote the MS in Accounting and Business Analysis program
Responsibilities:
Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction associated with more than one lecture or laboratory course, assists with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction and the development of pedagogy/andragogy or assessment tools and resources to support quality student learning. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
5% Designs curriculum and/or techniques for instruction in a disciplinary area and suggests new ways of effective instruction in courses within that discipline
5% Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
5% Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy and trains faculty and other instructional staff in use of said instructional techniques and programs
5% Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
15% Supervises the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
5% May administer budget and personnel for instructional grants and programs
40% Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
20% Serve as primary advisor to students entering graduate program and is point of contact with Masters Program Office to support student experience from admissions to onboarding and graduation.

Required Master's Degree in Accountancy
Qualifications:
Required: - Minimum of ten years working in accounting or an accounting related field. - Minimum of two years experience in teaching accounting courses to undergraduate or graduate students. - Minimum of one year experience as director of a graduate business program.
Preferred: - Experience leading teaching assistants in the delivery of undergraduate coursework. - Experience advising undergraduate students in the areas of academic planning, career pathways and CPA eligibility.
