Under the supervision of the Privacy Manager, the Senior Privacy Compliance Analyst is responsible for monitoring day-to-day privacy compliance activities to ensure compliance with UCSF and UC system-wide policies, and applicable privacy laws and regulations.
The Senior Privacy Compliance Analyst will serve as a technical expert and advisor on privacy compliance matters. They will maintain and apply their extensive knowledge of internal privacy policies/practices and external privacy laws/regulations to advise the UCSF enterprise, represent OHCP in appropriate committees and workgroups, identify risk patterns and trends, and handle privacy risk assessments and queries that are complex and/or of broad scope. They will exercise their judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to anticipate, identify, and resolve issues.
This includes collaborating with the Privacy Manager on the following:
Developing, implementing, and maintaining the framework of the Privacy Compliance Program ("Program"), including reporting educational needs based on an assessment of compliance risks for the UCSF enterprise.
Conducting timely review, revision, and implementation of UCSF enterprise-wide privacy policies and procedures and assessing compliance with current and proposed federal and state regulations and UC system-wide policies and procedures.
Managing complex privacy/compliance HIPAA projects, participating in special projects such as process improvements, and supporting the Program's work items, including conducting privacy due diligence of UCSF Health Network acquisitions.
In addition to the core responsibilities, as needed, the Senior Privacy Compliance Analyst is also tasked with:
Supporting the interdepartmental framework for research privacy compliance at UCSF, including training, consultations, and other relevant research privacy compliance projects.
Under the Privacy Investigations and Regulatory Manager's supervision, they apply their knowledge of internal policies and external privacy regulations to investigate privacy incidents, determine reportability, and facilitate any required reporting. They will also work with relevant stakeholders to implement preventative and mitigating measures.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $105,900 - $225,900 (Annual Rate).
