The Department of Human Studies in the School of Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) (https://www.uab.edu/education/home/graduate/counseling) invites applications for appointment to a 9-month tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin August 2024. Salary and terms of appointment are commensurate with prior experience. The selected candidate will be responsible for: teaching core classes as well as classes within the Marriage, Couples, and Family concentrations (e.g., relationships and sexuality, marriage and couples counseling, advanced marriage and family techniques, etc.); advising graduate students; participating in admissions processes; clinical supervision in the UAB Community Counseling Clinic; and university, local, regional, and/or national service.

Required Qualifications:
A successful candidate must have an earned doctorate from a CACREP accredited counseling program (or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before 2023), must have an LMFT credential and be LMFT-eligible in Alabama, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and service/leadership. They also should have a demonstrated potential for engaging in high quality research/scholarship.
