Department Summary
The History Department houses the Public History Initiative, the Luskin Center for History and Policy, graduate and undergraduate programs, and a robust academic roster including faculty, lecturers, post-docs and visitors. Position Summary
Provide individual academic counseling to History majors and minors. Work closely with faculty and administrators to achieve departmental goals, and participate in long-range planning for undergraduate program.

Demonstrated experience in counseling new and continuing students, using sensitivity and sound judgment. (Required)
Demonstrated experience in working effectively in a large, complex and dynamic organization. (Required)
Demonstrated skill in successfully interacting with people of varied social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. (Required)
Strong background in program coordination, including defining priorities and goals, developing operation plans, analyzing problems, determining solutions, meeting deadlines and managing processes from inception to completion. (Required)
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, interact effectively and diplomatically with staff, faculty, senior university administrators, students, donors and volunteers. (Required)
