The Graduate Admissions Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Metropolitan Colleges graduate programs by overseeing the recruitment, admission, and onboarding processes for prospective students. As a key member of the Admissions team, this role engages with potential students through a variety of communication channels, including phone, email, text, and presentations to guide them through the admissions journey. This role employs a consultative service approach to understand and address the educational needs and career aspirations of applicants, ensuring they receive the support necessary to make informed decisions about their graduate education.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Student Recruitment and Outreach
Proactively engage with prospective students who have expressed interest in or applied to Metropolitan Colleges graduate programs.
Utilize various communication tools (phone, email, text) to conduct outreach and build relationships with prospective students.
Provide detailed information about graduate degree and certificate programs, addressing queries and clarifying program details.
2. Admissions Support and Application Management
Assist prospective students throughout the application process, from initial inquiry to submission.
Review and evaluate applications based on academic department standards, making admission decisions in collaboration with departmental faculty and staff.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of applications, adhering to established deadlines and procedures.
3. Recruitment Events and Activities
Represent Metropolitan College at recruitment events, including presenting and hosting information sessions and webinars and other outreach activities.
Participate in the planning and execution of recruitment strategies, contributing to the development and refinement of promotional materials and event logistics.
4. Student Onboarding and Transition
Facilitate a smooth transition for newly admitted students by providing guidance on enrollment procedures and connecting them with relevant academic departments.
Conduct follow-up communications to ensure that admitted students complete all necessary steps for enrollment and integration into the college community.
5. Collaboration and Strategy Development
Work closely with the senior management team within Admissions, academic program directors, and MET's marketing staff to implement and refine recruitment strategies.
Contribute to the development of strategic recruitment plans, leveraging insights and feedback from fellow Graduate Admissions Advisors to achieve enrollment goals.
6. CRM and Record-Keeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and interactions with prospective and admitted students using the colleges CRM system.
Track application progress, outreach efforts, and student engagement metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
7. Continuous Improvement and Feedback
Stay informed about the latest trends and requirements in graduate education to provide relevant and accurate information to prospective students.
Share insights and feedback with the Admissions team and other departments to enhance the overall student experience and contribute to the success of METs graduate programs.
Working Environment: The Graduate Admissions Advisor will join a collegial and collaborative team environment, working closely with academic departments, faculty, staff, and administrative offices. This role requires a commitment to fostering positive relationships and contributing to the overall success and growth of Metropolitan Colleges graduate programs. A hybrid work arrangement is available for this role.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree required.
Proven experience (preferably 2+ years) in higher education admissions, recruitment, or a similar role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of students and stakeholders.
Proficiency in using CRM systems and other communication tools.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Collaborative mindset with a commitment to contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
