DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the supervision, and coordination of custodial operations for an assigned area. Supervises, mentors and trains staff involved in cleaning patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, laboratory areas, waiting areas and public restrooms using various cleaning chemicals and disinfectants. Follows established infection-control practices to ensure a clean and safe environment. Oversees biohazardous waste disposal process according to established procedures and quality standards. Monitors appropriate supply levels of items necessary for assigned work areas. Monitors inventory and inspects equipment for repair and / or replacement. Responsible for screening and hiring new employees, conducting performance reviews, and taking disciplinary action upon consultation with Human Resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of three (3+) or more years of custodial/related experience, preferably in healthcare or hospitality environment.
Experience and proven success in working knowledge in custodial and housekeeping services.
The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
Understanding of basic safety regulations and issues.
Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, and web-based applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One to two (1 - 2) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality environment.
Knowledge of personnel management and labor/employee relations and demonstrated ability to apply clinical and business judgment, management concepts, and counseling for all personnel on daily operational issues.
Experience in training, mentoring and coaching personnel.
Blood-born pathogen and sharps disposal training.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $53,800 - $91,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.77 - $43.58
