The basics of this position:
The Student Enrollment Specialist is the point of contact to current and prospective students on a wide range of services on all programs and courses offered by the College. Provides information and appropriate services for current and prospective students throughout the enrollment and registration process, including admissions, placement testing, applying for financial aid, advising, and registration. Operating under best practices from national organizations such as NACAC and NAFSAA the Enrollment Service Counselor main function is to provide a seamless and integrated levels of service utilizing the CRM Recruit, BANNER, and other systems to assist and document the student’s enrollment path.
What you'll do:
Certification for Veterans benefits or enrollment certification for International.
Provide guidance to prospective and current students and parents on the admissions and/or student aid and/or enrollment services process
Provide in-take services; respond to direct requests from individual applicants, parents, and counselors through phone, email, and assisting visitors to the office.
Evaluate credentials on students’ applications to determine eligibility for admission, financial assistance, veteran services, or visa documentation.
Utilize the systems to assist students in making a seamless transition from admissions to registration.
Serves as the primary counselor for a working caseload of students.
Assist and Advise students on the application process, such as requirements of transcripts, acceptable documents to verify residency for tuition purposes; add/drop procedures; graduation information; the financial aid process and requirements, including FAFSA submittal, verification documents, sources of aid and associated responsibilities, acceptance, and deferment of aid; and payment of tuition.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and over three (3) years of relevant full-time experience. Or an internal candidate with an Associate degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in higher education working in Enrollment services or Student affairs and the willingness to learn and preform the job.
All employees must earn the credential for NASFAA verification within their first year of employment. Must possess good communication skills be attentive to details and demonstrate competent computer skills.
