We provide world-class diagnostic screenings and evaluations for patients who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or experiencing pelvic/abdominal pain or related complications. Our team of specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, clinical genetics and ob/gyn sonography have the advanced technologies and knowledge to provide our patients precise screening and expert evaluations.

Our Clinical Mission: Care is provided at the Center for Outpatient Health and Barnes-Jewish Hospital at the Washington University-BJH Campus, the Center for Womenâ™s Wellness at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Progress West Hospital, Oâ™Fallon, MO, and at Memorial East Hospital in Shiloh, IL. We seek to optimize the outcome for all pregnancies, regardless of risk, using an integrated care approach, cutting edge technology and coordination of care with referring physicians. Our services span pre-conceptional risk assessment and counseling, care during pregnancy and post-conceptional follow up. Care is supported by modern prenatal diagnosis technologies designed to enhance the assessment of fetal conditions and maximize reproductive options.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, correcting patient history with examination and presents study to physician for examination while adhering to patient schedules.
Assists physicians with procedures, providing sonographic guidance during process, obtains necessary supplies and equipment and monitors patient needs assisting physicians with patient support.
Teaches ultrasound procedures and techniques to visitors in the department such as residents, students, fellows and new sonographers and enhances own professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings and conferences.
Maintains documentation as required including patient files, performs data entry and completes paperwork needed for procedures/processes.
Develops film through automatic processing, monitoring darkroom supplies and equipment.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Performs phlebotomy and injections when required.
Assists with maintaining supplies and equipment.
Assists clerical staff with front desk support when needed.
